Oliver Sieber is a Laboratory Head in the Personalised Oncology division at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI). His group aims to understand the molecular pathology of human bowel cancer in order to develop strategies to improve treatment and patient outcomes. The research program of his laboratory has four main themes, the identification of clinically relevant molecular subtypes of bowel cancer, discovery of genetic drivers of cancer development, elucidation of cancer signalling, and translation of cell and molecular biology technologies into clinical decision making.

Associated Professor Sieber received his PhD from University College London in 2004, and then undertook 6 years postdoctoral training at Cancer Research UK, the University of Oxford and the Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research (LICR). He was Joint Laboratory Head at the LICR, Parkville, from 2009-12, before joining WEHI as Laboratory Head.
