Decoding Neutrophil Sugar-Biology in Innate Immunity and Infection

Special seminar hosted by Associate Professor Ethan Godard-Borger

Dr Morten Thaysen Andersen is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Sciences, Macquarie University. Facilitated by a fellowship from the Cancer Institute NSW, he established the Analytical Glycoimmunology Group to explore how complex carbohydrates (glycans) affect the function of key proteins in the innate immune system including in inflammation, pathogenic-host interactions and cancer. His group draws on methods in protein and carbohydrate chemistry and molecular immunology to investigate the structure-function relationship of glycoproteins in innate immune processes of relevance to human health and diseases.
