I am a finance executive with significant experience across the higher education, health, research and not-for-profit sectors.
As Chief Financial Officer I play a role in setting the Institute’s strategic agenda, ensuring financial integrity, delivering financial reports and managing financial compliance and risk.
I lead all financial activities including financial projections, financial review of activities and operations, as well as financial review of contracts and agreements. I provide financial control over the Institute’s balance sheet, including optimising returns from our cash holdings and investment portfolio. I also lead the Institute's Procurement and Logistics team.
In 2017, I joined the Institute from Monash University where I held a series of senior executive roles, most recently leading the University’s finance business partnering team that supported all the University’s research and revenue management activities.
I am a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). I also hold a number of board and committee positions across the not-for-profit sector.
The Finance team
The Finance team is passionate about supporting the important work of the Institute and our inspiring researchers. Our team includes specialists in grant accounting processes, tax, insurance, compliance and financial systems.
We aim to ensure our scientists and professional services staff are provided with excellent budgetary strategies, performance reporting and financial advice. The team ensures the efficient operation of payments, invoicing and banking activities.
We proactively address business needs and required financial analysis through partnerships with our scientific and operational divisions.
